Background & Education:
Chiaka Adele was born in London, England. She received her first law degree (LL.B.) from the University of Nigeria in 1992 where she graduated with honors. Continuing her education, Ms. Adele received her B.L. (Barrister-at-Law) degree from the University of Nigeria Law School in 1993 with high honors, and her LL.M from the London School of Economics, University of London in 1994 with high honors. Ms. Adele moved to the United States to practice law and passed the New York Bar in 1996.
In order to practice as a litigator in Georgia, Ms. Adele decided to attend law school a second time at Emory University School of Law. She graduated with honors in 2001. Her law school honors include the Award of Excellence in Study of International Human Rights, Award of Excellence in Study of Capital Punishment, and Dean’s list fall 2000 and spring 2001.
Professional Experience:
Ms. Adele worked as contract attorney at Jones, Day, Reavis & Pogue, New York and at White & Case, New York. She moved to Georgia and worked as a Staff Attorney at Atlanta Legal Aid Society and later as Staff Counsel at Security First Technologies, Inc. She joined the firm in 2001.
