Background & Education:
Mr. Hood is originally from Anderson, South Carolina. After serving four years of active duty in the United States Air Force, Mr. Hood graduated from College of Charleston, summa cum laude. He then attended The University of Alabama School of Law, where he was invited to join the Alabama Law Review after his first year.
Mr. Hood transferred to the University of Chicago Law School for his second and third years of law school, and he graduated from that institution in 2004.
Professional Experience:
Mr. Hood began his legal career with the Northeastern Judicial Circuit Public Defender Office in Gainesville, Georgia, where he practiced in the area of criminal defense and conducted numerous jury trials and motions hearings as lead counsel in the Superior Courts of Hall and Dawson Counties.
Mr. Hood joined the law firm of Blackburn, Walther, Sloan and Adair, LLC in 2006, where he practiced in the areas of real estate, family law, criminal defense and general civil litigation. While there, Mr. Hood litigated cases in various magistrate, state, and superior courts throughout the Atlanta area.
Mr. Hood joined Scrudder, Bass, Quillian, Horlock, Taylor & Lazarus, LLP in 2008. His practice is focused primarily in the areas of general civil litigation and workers’ compensation defense.

Mr. Hood is admitted to practice in all trial courts in Georgia, the Georgia Court of Appeals, the Supreme Court of Georgia, and the U.S. District Court, Northern District of Georgia.
