Background & Education:
Ms. Godsey received her undergraduate degree in Health Policy and Administration from the Pennsylvania State University in 1998. She received her law degree from Emory University School of Law in 2001, where she was given a Commendation for Outstanding Oral Advocacy in the Emory Trial Techniques Program.
Professional Experience:
Ms. Godsey focuses her practice on the defense of health care providers and institutions in personal injury and wrongful death cases. She has extensive experience representing hospitals, physicians, nurses, and other health care providers in cases involving medical malpractice, fraud, credentialing, and peer review. Ms. Godsey has obtained many favorable results for her clients through motions, mediation and trial. She has also been very successful in representing her clients at the appellate level.
Prior to joining Scrudder, Bass, Quillian, Horlock, Taylor & Lazarus, LLP, Ms. Godsey practiced at Carlock, Copeland, Semler and Stair, from 2003 to 2007, where she specialized in the defense physicians of various specialties in cases involving allegations of professional negligence. From 2001 to 2003, Ms. Godsey practiced at King & Spalding, where she focused her practice on the representation of a national clinical laboratory.
Ms. Godsey is co-author of “When Drug and Device Company Reps Enter the Room,” Medical Malpractice Law & Strategy, October 2006.
